Spa Night

Facebook Rocks!
I was reunited with a long lost friend on facebook a few weeks ago and she invited me and my sister to her brothers new spa for a girls night out!  She told us we could bring a couple of friends along so, Woooo Woooo, girls night at the spa was on like donkey kong!!!!!
We got pedicures, manicures, massages, and parifin wax treatments for our hands, as seen in the picture above.
(Julia really is having fun, even though it may not appear so in the picture.  This is apparently the only face she can make when someone is aiming a camera at her)
We had so much fun, and at the nights end, when we all five had to go to the bathroom at the exact same time (weird), and we all five washed our hands at the exact same time (because you ALWAYS wash your hands after going to the bathroom),  we ALL FIVE had not so minty mouths and needed a little mouthwash to end the night just perfectly.  The craziest part was, there was a bottle of mouthwash in the restroom,  just waiting to clean and refresh our mouths.  So weird!  No one brought their mouthwash cups though.  Ugh, I hate it when that happens!  No worries, we improvised.

(If your name starts with a 'S' and ends with an 'I' and you are totally disgusted with your long lost pal from facebook, her sister and their three tag along friends, then I'd just like to say that these pictures are fakes, I would so never play in a restroom like this.  Ha ha. Ha.)
Oops, how did this picture get in here???
Highlights of the night:
* Our so relaxing spa treatments!  Thanks Staci!!!
* Our waiter at dinner telling us that he had to go to the restroom REALLY BAD and then returning (after a very long time) saying, and I quote, "ahhhh, much better"
GROSS!!!
(side note: Julia did smell the soap on his hands after he returned from the restroom)
* Pretend running over a cat just to hear Ash scream like a little girl
* My husband canning 24 jars of meat while I was out being pampered!
* Staying out WAY past my bedtime and laughing WAY too much :)
And the number ONE highlight of the evening was.............
drumroll................
* Big Ash's car getting stolen right out of the Target parking lot!
(We warned her not to park it in the dark crevices of the parking lot, she just wouldn't listen)
Spa night was so super fun and relaxing!!!
I'm thinking I'll be needing another spa night soon :)
Who's in?????????

Visit To The Hospital

Yesterday Colton decided to give his mom and Dad mild heart attacks.
(According to Aaron, I may have also had a slight panic attack:)
We got a call from Colton's school letting us know that he had fainted and fallen face first onto the concrete.  This has never happened before and it was very scary.  Luckily, Aaron was actually home yesterday and we both rushed down to the school to get him.  When we got there he had a nice big goose egg on the top of his head and a bloody tongue.  His front teeth are sore, but it looks like they are all in tact.  Thank goodness.  We took him to the hospital where he had several tests done. The tests didn't take long to do, but the results took an EXTRAORDINARILY LONG TIME to get back.
Six hours into this ordeal, we were told that most likely, he was extremely dehydrated.
Needless to say, this morning I made him drink a big glass of water before school, and I gave him a VERY LARGE water bottle that needs to be empty by the time he gets home.
It was a long day, but I am so very grateful that Colton is ok.  While we sat by his bed, waiting for the results to come back, I felt completely overwhelmed with how much I love him.  He's so full of life.  I couldn't even imagine what my life would be like without him in it.
He was very brave throughout the whole ordeal, but I must admit, I did enjoy him reaching out for my hand when he had his blood drawn, and was feeling a little scared.
He may be getting older, but he's still my little man.
I'm also very thankful to my Mom and my sister.  Krista came right down to the hospital and picked up the baby for us, even though I'm pretty sure she had to be somewhere else at the time.  My Mom, who isn't feeling well herself, took all three of the kids and kept them safe for me until we were done.  She even helped with homework, which is SO much fun to do.  I'm so very grateful to my Heavenly Father for blessing my life with such wonderful family and friends.  I'm especially grateful to my Heavenly Father for watching over my Colton yesterday.
It was a scary day, but it was also very good day.

Saving The World, One Goat At A Time

Yippee!!!
The babies are finally here!!!
Raz and Essie had their sweet little babies today.  We're so exited!  The babies are so stinkin' cute!  The kids couldn't get enough of them.  Especially Gracie.  She would go from one baby to the next, making sure each got plenty of snuggle time with her.  Colton literally sat with this baby for about a half hour and never moved.  He was so sweet and completely content.
Ugh, so cute.

Raz delivered one baby and then acted like she was still going to have another.  Time passed and still there was no baby.  My mom made a phone call and was told that we needed to examine her to see if there was another baby inside.
Ya, that's right, examine her.
Now, of course, this job was automatically given to Big Daddy, but, Big Daddy has ginormo hands and forearms.
When he couldn't get the job done, who do you think he turned to???
That's right, baby!  Someone had to save the world and it was definitely me!!!
Oh and Raz, your welcome.
Here I am on the left, well, you know, saving the world, and on the right, I'm just cleaning up a bit.
What was little miss Ava doing while mommy was off being a super hero???
Getting pushed in the swing and snuggled by Great Grandma, of course.
Check list for the day:
Get kids off to school
Clean house
Teach aerobics
Run errands
Pick up carpool
Save the world by giving Raz an "examination"
Shower and disinfect children
Make dinner
Help with homework (I hate homework)
Make delicious lemon bars (I deserved a treat)
Say Family Prayer
Put kids to bed
Blog about goats

I think I can finally call it a day.  This super hero stuff is exhausting!

Little Acts of Service

It's been a rough week.  Ava, Aaron, and Colton have all been sick.  Ava's definitely had it the worst.   I feel so bad for her.  She just wants me to hold her and snuggle her, and of course, never ever sit down with her.  I called my mom a couple of days ago, and admitted to her that I hadn't showered in a day and a half, and my hair hadn't been washed in way longer than that, (I probably could have started dreads, which might have been cool)  and my sweet little baby screamed bloody murder of I dared set her down.  So, my mama came over and held my little pookie poo so that I could shower and then assisted me in bathing the wee one too.  Ava was, of course, so sweet and happy while my mom was here, I'm sure my mom thought I was a big fat liar.  It was a very nice little break.  Thanks Mommacita!!!

On Saturday I went and picked up our produce basket and their were some delicious plums in it.  So, I very nonchalantly mentioned to Aaron how much I love his plum jam :)
Sunday afternoon, my awesome husband canned 5 pints of the most delicious plum jam ever!
I love my canning hubby!!!
Today when I got home from aerobics, I was greeted by shiny clean floors that my hubby mopped without me even asking him!  My house smelled so clean!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, babe!  You're the best!
Now I just need to mention the toilets to him, and maybe...............................................

My Valentines Date

For Valentines this year my hubby took his two girls on a cowboy wagon ride and campfire dinner.  It was super fun and super COLD.

Beans got to come along because mommy couldn't live without her for that long, and she wasn't feeling well so we thought the freezing cold air would be great for her :)
Pretty sure she's giving me a dirty look in this picture.  I think she was a little tired at this point :)
Mommacita and Daddy-O celebrated the night away with us!  Man those two sure know how to par-tae!
We kept finding them in hidden corners making out.
Ugh, that almost made me vomit just typing that.
Papa had the magic touch.
It was a fun night!  Thanks babe, I love you so much!
Happy Valentines Day!!!

BOYS!?!

This is what I walked into the other night, after I had repeatedly asked the boys to be quiet and GO TO SLEEP.  Oh, I just LOVE my boys, at night, when I'm tired, and they decide to have a wrestling match instead of going to sleep.

This is when I looked at their room, which I had repeatedly asked them to clean, and they so didn't.  I just smiled and explained to them that the whole world (because apparently the whole world reads my blog now) is going to see their disgusting room.
The first pic is Colton thinking he was going to stop me from telling the world the truth.
NO ONE COULD STOP ME!  NO ONE!!!
Here's my sweet child chasing me out of the room with his phsyco face on.  Or is that his constipated face???  I can't remember.
Here's to show the world (because the whole world reads my blog) that Mommy won this battle!
YAY MOMMY!!!
It only took a few tears and a little yelling.
Or was it a lot of tears and some major yelling???
I can't remember :)
Not too bad, oops, except for the sheet not properly tucked in on top.  Oh well, I guess I'll let that one go.

Afternoon Carpool

I'm in charge of the afternoon carpool with my children and some my friends kids every day after school.  I wish I could record the conversations that go on during our short long drive home.  Here are a few blurps (I don't even know if that is a word :) from our drive today:

Haley: I'm sitting next to Ava!!!
Colton: No, I'm sitting next to Ava, you sat next to her yesterday!!!
Haley: Nu Uh!!!!
Hanna: I called her first!!!
Gracie: Whatever guys, I'm ALREADY sitting by her!
Logan: You guys fight over Ava every single day!!!

Haley: Seriously, it totally tasted like feces and maggots!
me: Um, really???  When was the last time you partook of feces and maggots exactly???
Haley: Ha ha ha, you're so funny, Tara!  You totally don't want to know how I know what that tastes like!
me: Um, you're right, I don't

Colton: OMG!  You know Nick from school, he said he didn't even like Chris's haircut today!?!
Hanna: Colton, no offense, but pretty much all of your friends are stupid and don't know what they're talking about.  Except you :)  But, the rest of your friends, STUPID!
Colton: I know!  I try to tell them!

all the kids talking over the tops of each other:  Ha ha ha, say I'm walking down the street and a bad guy comes and I'm like, I've got a pistol, ha ha ha, he'd run!
No, ha ha ha, I'd be like I have a rifle, ha ha ha, he'd really run then, ha ha ha
GUYS, GUYS, GUYS (trying to be heard over everyone) No, I'VE got a double shotgun, ha ha ha
I've got a BAZOOKA!!!  I know he'd run from that!!!  HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!

Colton: Ha ha, Logan, why were you in opportunity club today???  (Said extra innocent, like he didn't realize he was saying it right in front of me.  Very sneaky)
Logan: Dude, be quiet! (actually he said shut up, but I'm just pretending like he used nicer words)

This was the best one.  We can never, ever, drive home without this topic somehow being brought up before we get home.  Never.

OH MAN, WHO FARTED???
Colton:  Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Logan:  Seriously, that smells like rotten eggs and butt ( He makes me so proud.  I just love his describing adjectives)
Hanna: That wasn't me.  I did it at school today, though.  Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Colton: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Haley: I farted on my dog last night, and he totally got up off the couch and went outside!  Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Me: Ok, everyone stop.  That's enough. ( Not even a pause in the disgusting/inappropriate conversation)
Zac:  Ha ha ha!  I think it was me! (think???)
Colton: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Gracie: (in tears) EVERYONE BE QUIET!!!  I'M TRYING TO WATCH MY MOVIE!
Oh, ya, there is definitely a movie going on in the background too.

This is just a small fraction of what I listen to ALL the way home.  After what seems like an hour or so, (15 min) we finally pull up to the first house, and I try not to sound to eager as I tell each child as they get out at their home, GOODBYE.

I don't think ANY workout that I've EVER done has come close to wearing me out as much as carpool does.   I think I need to invest in some really good ear plugs in order to make it through the next umpteen years of carpooling.  Ugh!  I'm tired just thinking about it.

My girls

I love these little moments.
It reminds me that being a mom is the best job in the world :)
