So the Sunday after Christmas/Aaron's birthday, I finally had enough of listening to Aaron whining about the pain he had in his side, so I scooped him up off of the ground where he was curled up in the fetal position crying like a baby girl, carried him to the car, and drove him to the ER.
Apparently his pain was real...go figure, and we were told the Dr would be removing his appendix within the next 24 hours.
They asked Aaron his pain scales while the pain was bad......
He gave them this face, and when we compared that with the cute little chart in the room, we decided he was an 8.
Drugs starting to kick in.........
about a 5 now
Oh ya, pain killer rock!
In the 0-1 range now :)
After Aaron's surgery the first thing he asked for, and he was seriously drugged at this point in time, was AH-SO. He was SO HUNGRY.
He hadn't eaten in two days. The cafeteria called to get his lunch order and I laughed imagining the person's face on the other end of the phone taking his order.
It went something like this:
I'd like a cheeseburger
french fries
turkey sandwich
salad w/ranch
couple bags of chips
4 sorbets
4 ice creams
soda
and a water bottle....
He was very disappointed when they only brought him 1 sorbet and 1 ice cream :)
(just for the record, his eyes were WAY bigger then his stomach)
Here he is the day after his surgery all better and ready to come home.
If you'll notice how little room there is on either side of Aaron,
I slept smooshed in between him and the bed rails the first night.
It was awesome.
I guess that's what I get for calling him a little whiny girl.

Wow Aaron... if I didn't know you, I would think you were at least 400 pounds by how much food you ordered. Glad you are doing better now!! What a great Christmas/birthday present! I think that your body was telling you that you are getting old!! ha
Funny Tara! I love his food order and that he really thought he could eat all of that, especially just after having surgery!!!
We've done the whole "pinching between the hospital bed rails" thing too... absolutely no fun... Good to see that you saved his life and that he's doing better...
